About This Site

Social Media (New Media) and law enforcement are on a collision course. People are Twittering crimes in progress, Facebook is helping find missing people, people are exposing themselves (some times more than others) on social media sites, which may cause them to become a victim of a crime. Enemies of the state are present in social media and should be considered to be using social media for potential threats against the United States and Western Civilization. Sounds crazy, maybe, but where there are a lot of people there are criminals and there are hundreds of millions of people using social networks, which is evolving into a new media.

Due to basic human nature there are a certain percentage of individuals who will use social media for criminal activities. So how does law enforcement police social media? Social Media Five-O will provide answers to this question and to many other questions pertaining to how law enforcement agencies, government, and businesses can implement social media into their communication platform. Beyond that this is my platform to discuss all things “social media,” “new media,” and “mobile media.” Speaking of mobile media CrazyMikesapps.com is the sister site to Social Media Five-O.

Social Media Five-O was born from CrazyMikesapps.com . CrazyMikesapps.com is an iPhone app review website that focuses on written, video, and podcast iPhone application reviews. This is how I got started in social media and it is my passion. CrazyMikesapps.com is becoming more than just an iPhone app review site, we are starting to produce iPhone apps ourselves. In addition to app production we are also focusing on iPhone app marketing to help developers learn how to brand their apps for sale in the iTunes App Store. But as a retired law enforcement officer I cannot help but to focus on the benefits to law enforcement by being involved in social media/new media.
